Title=Australia - AdelaideDescription=You are flying a Boeing 737-400 into Adelaide International airport. The city of Adelaide is the state capital of South Australia, sometimes known as the 'city of churches.' You may very well need to say a prayer or two as you make your descent onto final approach. The wind gets mighty fierce on this notorious stretch of water called the Great Australian Bight. Expect a 10166ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 20ft. Aveasafeone. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=USA - The Green Trees RanchDescription=Firstlly, isolate The Green Trees Ranch (OG28) on your GPS (magnify). Take the worry out of the approach by knowing precisely which airport you are flying to. Green Trees is a beautifully appointed airstrip. The wind plays a big part in this approach but you can achieve excellent touchdowns with practice. Expect a 2660ft grass runway on an elevation of 1139ft. Enjoy. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Sao Tome & Principe - PrincipeDescription=You are flying a Learjet into Principe in wet and cloudy conditions. Do not rush your descent as visibility will improve before landing. Trust your instruments. You will fly into an undulating mountain runway, so expect an uphill lie. Hit a nine iron into the breeze, with a possible two putt for par. Replace all divots. There's a 4316ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 586ft. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Canada - Kaslo IDescription=If you're looking for an easy flight into Kaslo (CBR2), forget it, this is a toughie! Bush flying ability around these parts is a distinct advantage. This approach is made even more difficult by the absence of good natural light and coupled with the dark density of the terrain it makes visibility a real strain. Expect a 3850ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 2354ft. A great approach, fun to do, but it will take plenty of practice to perfect. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=USA - Thomas Creek Description=What makes this approach and landing into Thomas Creek (2U8) so demanding is that it's a real battle to get your airspeed under control for a safe landing. So, get some flaps down early over the mountain tops before you make your descent and make life generally easier upon yourself! The runway is very narrow and it requires a constant effort to stay on. Expect a 2100ft gravel runway on an elevation of 4400ft. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=France - Campo Dell'Oro IDescription=Campo Dell'Oro is an ILS approach. You are in command of a Boeing 737-400 flying onto runway 2. Fly manually first, it helps to turn you into a far more accomplished pilot. This is a windy approach (what else is new) so you'll have to work hard for a good landing. At times it's better to disengage the autopilot earlier than usual to obtain better aircraft control. How early? Well, that depends on your comfort zone. Expect a 7898ft concrete runway on an elevation of 18ft. Enjoy. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Switzerland - Schanis-Mollisoriginal files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=USA - Thompson FallsDescription=Today, you are flying a Bombardier Learjet into Thompson Falls. It is snowing pretty heavily as you prepare for final approach. Look for (KTHM) on your (GPS). Be prepared for sharp winds where the valley widens near the airport. You can expect a 4200ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 2400ft. Have a great flight. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |

Title=Albania - Kukes - WinterDescription=Kukes (LAKU) is one of the most beautiful and well appointed dirt runways in all of Albania. But today you will experience Kukes's other side, with a river breeze that has to be handled with respect or else you'll pay the price. Today you are flying a Cessna Caravan. Exercise care and you'll make this approach comfortably. Go at it like a mad bull ... and it's goodnight Irene! Expect a 3772ft dirt runway on an elevation of 1120ft. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=USA - Vey Sheep RanchDescription=It's a very pleasant flight down to Vey sheep Ranch. You may find that you will have to adopt a steeper final approach than normal because of tree invasion. Not to worry, there's more than ample runway to land on. You can expect a 4500ft gravel runway on an elevation of 4158ft. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Canada - Bella Coola IDescription=Unless you know these mountains well it's best to stick to clearly defined routes! Bring up some colour on your GPS by pressing 'Terrain' which will show you the valley approach, then make a left turn onto final. Try this approach with a Learjet when you feel more confident. Today, you are flying a Cessna Amphibian. Expect a 4200ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 117ft. Aveasafeone. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Indonesia - Satartacik IIDescription=Satartacik (WRKG) is a great airstrip as you have just discovered. You are still flying a Bombardier Learjet but this time your approach is onto runway 27. Expect a 4265ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 3510ft. Have a great flight. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
Title=Canada - Kaslo IIDescription=Kaslo (CBR2) is unflyable in really cloudy conditions. You are still flying a Cessna Caravan, but this time you are approaching runway 25. Your landing technique may require a bit of practice before you tame the beast, but you'll get lots of satisfaction out of this approach when you do. Expect a 3850ft asphalt runway on an elevation of 2354ft. Have a great flight. original files distributed through nominated websites by Michael Doherty. |
