The editor writes in issue 28:
If you're not already a convert to Ruud Faber's excellent replacement seasonal texture sets for FS2004, take a look at this video (on the cover CD) showing off some replacement Spring textures. For the full range of reasonably priced packages, see www.fscene.com

Ian Scott revisited the FScene Textures, read his AVSIM review and new comments.

Some time ago I wrote a review for AVSIM of the replacement textures produced by FScene. The creator, an artistic Dutchman named Ruud Faber, is a long-standing and well respected member of the Flight Sim community. Now Ruud has begun releasing an even more ambitious series of textures for FS2004. And they just keep getting better and better. Most of us believe that FS2004 is a great improvement over the previous release; though I also thought FS2002 (unlike FS2000 which I hated) was wonderful. The improvements in these two versions of Microsoft's great Flight Simulator were enormous.
But if you are looking to take your FS2004 experience to an even higher level of realism and breath-taking scenery, you need to buy these latest textures from Ruud Faber.
Your entire landscape will be transformed. The default textures are very good – better than anything we've ever had from Microsoft. But the new FS Scene textures are simply spectacular. With no impact on FPS, you will see a world that is more colorful, more three dimensional and more realistic than ever before. The stock landscape suddenly looks almost "photo-realistic" and is crisp and clear. Urban areas are simply spectacular. For the flight sim enthusiast who really does want it as real as it gets, this add-on is a must. The USA and Europe are already covered. Now Australia and New Zealand, South America and Africa are on their way. There is something for everyone. You can buy one season at a time if you can't afford to buy them all at once. Sure, it is a bit expensive to replace all of the stock textures with these. Is it worth it? If "real as it gets" is your standard, then the answer is yes.

Al Pelletier flew his Edelweiss Air Round Robin Adventure over FScene2004 Winter textures.

    ......Round Robin Adventures
"The scenario and tasking for today's exercise: We are flying for German based Edelweiss Air and we have been chartered to take contest winners to a ski trip to Innsbruck. We are departing Hamburg and making a stop in Frankfurt on the way to Innsbruck. A note here, that I also used the great upgrade of Europe Winter Textures from FScene....."
